FAQs

Your questions are important to HereComesBabyBoutique.com.

So we had a few questions come in to us here at Here Comes Baby Boutique and here are a few of those questions with answers.

Why does it seem that Here Comes Baby Boutique’s prices on furniture seem a bit more expensive than your competitors?

Because we took our time to seek out and research the best for your new little one that we did for our own children. We have been to many of our competitor’s stores/websites and in most cases we have been very disappointed with the products that they had to offer. We believe that if we truly want to offer cribs to young adult pieces of furniture that it needs to stand the test of time and what a child can do to a piece of furniture. So we went with what we know; a solid wood handcrafting would be of better quality than any mass produced piece of furniture with durability, design, safety, and memories for the years to come.

What is heirloom quality furniture?

Simply this, it is of utmost quality that will last. It is what generation after generation should be able to pass down to one another.

Why heirloom quality furniture over new fad designs and products?

It may seem silly to ask such a question, but think of it this way…. Would you rather spend a lot all at once or a lot over time replacing the same thing over and over again? New mass produced products are made to be replaced and or discarded for the newest and best product that is on the market.

What is the difference between hardwood and solid hardwood?

In most cases it can be a veneer that is wrapped over MDF “Medium-Density Fiberboard allowing mass producers to use the term Hardwood.

(MDF) is an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibers, often combining these fibers with a wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure. MDF is generally denser than plywood.

  1. The veneer used to cover is normally 1/32 of an inch of wood that is bonded to the MDF to give the product a certain hardwood look such is the case when it comes to Baby Cribs and Cradles.
  2. The life of solid hardwood furnishings is normally longer lasting than any MDF made product and can become a family heirloom that is passed down from generation to generation with proper care.
  3. Another wonderful feature of solid hardwood furnishings versus “hardwood over MDF” is repair and care of this fine quality furniture. Scuffs, dents, scratches, and other surface abrasions can be taken care of with very minimal effort.
  4. In some cases, with different types of hardwoods, the wood could be softer and dents and scuffs become easier to find and make but yet with minimal effort can be removed with the proper tools and applications.
